IBM is currently recruiting SAP BI and SAP Business Objects consultants into their GBS (Global Business Services) SAP Business Intelligence team. This vacancy will also consider applicants with skills in SAP’s planning, consolidation and costing suite of solutions.

The Solution Area provides business intelligence consultancy and specialises in the implementation of leading edge BI solutions in support of business improvement with blue-chip clients in the areas of SAP BW, BPS, BCS, IP, Business Objects, BPC and PCM.

The candidates successfully recruited into this role will be able to:

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team delivering high quality end to end project implementations and consultancy of SAP Business Intelligence solutions to our clients.
Deliver work / project within tight deadlines
Consult on business issues and the SAP & BObj BI Solution set to deliver lasting value to clients as part of IBM engagements
Gather and define requirements as part of an SAP BI project implementation
Develop detailed systems design and configuration including data modelling of bespoke BW objects such as info sources, info cubes, DSO objects, planning areas, planning layouts etc
Use SAP Business Content, R/3 data extractors, LO Cockpit extractors
Use techniques to enhance data extraction;
Use query and dataloading performance-enhancing techniques;
Use front end reporting tools such as Bex Analyser, BW Web Application Designer and be familiar with the new Business Objects suite of reporting tools
Develop and sustain positive working relationships with client management and staff during engagements
Engage effectively and constructively with internal and external clients and be able to deal with complex client relationships
Apply IBM and Industry standard methods and tools as appropriate to the clients needs.
Demonstrate advanced core consulting skills and SAP BI expertise to support delivery to clients
Coach other consulting and delivery staff contributing to their professional development

The applicant should be an experienced SAP consultant who has significant experience working in a large blue chip organisation and/or consulting services organisation.

They will possess a background in and have in depth experience of either both or one of the following:

At least 3 full lifecycle SAP BW 7.0 and/or SAP Business Objects projects (or 3 full lifecycle BCS, BPS, IP, BPC or PCM projects)

Design and configuration experience in SAP R/3 and/or ECC having specialised in any of the major functional areas such as Finance and Accounting or Logistics. Also possessing a good understanding of business processes in the area of specialism.

Technical development experience in a SAP environment including in depth practical experience of ABAP and Java.

They will have experience and knowledge of the concepts of data warehousing and data management including the use and application of ETL tools and be fully trained in SAP BI NW2004s (SAP BI 7.0)

The successful candidates are likely to:

Have excellent communication and negotiating skills.
Have experience of working in different organizations and be able to integrate successfully into and negotiate their way around differing cultures.
Be SAP trained in R/3 or ECC either through formal training or by experience.
