This globally respected brand name is fast becoming the consultancy of choice for UK Local Government consulting professionals; unlike many of their competitors they have a management board that is fully focused on strategic growth but they are also determined to hold on to their reputation for providing impartial advice and being able to provide consulting solutions that are ‘outside of the box’. They are now looking to increase their consulting capability and presence to support organisations that deliver local public services. They recognise that the focus needs to be regionally based with initial emphasis on London, the South East, the North West and the West Midlands.

These roles will support the Head of Local Government to further develop our clients “transformation partner” brand within Local Government and develop consulting business, focusing in particular on councils in the locality where the consultant is based. It will involve:

•           Opening doors, setting up and holding conversations with senior officers and Members to identify client problems and discuss potential solutions either one-to-one or introducing senior Partners;
•           Leading the development of thought leadership points of view and publishing, holding seminars etc;
•           Helping shape, sell and deliver consulting projects, working closely with other consultants;
•           Capturing lessons and knowledge and disseminating this to the rest of the UK and global Government practices. Person Profile (essential/desirable qualifications, experience, knowledge):
•           Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
•           Strong research track record;
•           Someone who is thinking about the future of public services;
•           Deep knowledge of Local Government/ local public service delivery;
•           Good credibility with the Local Government sector, experience in opening doors and engaging in conversations which have generated advisory consulting and transformational projects for consulting organisations;
•           Excellent academic record;
•           Strong analytical problem solving skills..
