HV Stations Commissioning Engineers

Our client is a growing energy company and one of Europe’s leading engineering and consultancy organisations

They currently have vacancies for HV Stations Commissioning Engineers/Technicians (3 years+ exp)

Responsibilities include:

• Assessment of site safety prior to engaging in commissioning activities and to coordinate own work schedule with the Person in Charge of Works as appropriate.
• Commissioning primary, secondary and peripheral plant forming part of Transmission/Distribution substations which to be connected to the electricity network.
• Commissioning testing of instrument transformers, power transformers and HV switchgear.
• Commissioning testing of protection relays
• Coordinate, plan, and deliver allocated commissioning projects

You will be expected to have knowledge and experience of:

• Electrical Safety Rules and procedures.
• Operations procedures and operation of primary substations.
• Schematics, cubicle wiring and functional testing
• Pre-commissioning cubicles and station plant
• Appreciation of test equipment and application software.
• Conceptual understanding of the design and operating mechanism of Power Plant i.e. Power transformers, CT’s VT’s circuit breakers
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office
