Financial Services – IT SAP Managers & Snr Managers

Our clients  SAP team focuses on advisory and assurance services facing their clients within financial services. 

Role

Involves working with clients to provide independent advice on how best to design, implement, stabilise and optimise their SAP landscape. This advice will typically be delivered along the lifecycle of a major transformation project involving an SAP implementation programme, but can also be specific advice designed to provide independent views, at discreet points in time during an implementation e.g. data migration.  With a flexible approach to engaging clients, ranging from ‘arms-length’ formal assurance to taking delivery responsibility.

Responsibilities

The focus of the role will be on the FI-CO Financial modules of SAP.  Primarily covering the General Ledger and associated Cost, Revenue, and Balance Sheet sub-ledgers, Treasury, and Financial Consolidation.  An in-depth understanding of the functional and technical design, configuration, and operation of each module will be required, alongside the ability to articulate across all levels.

As well as a technical understanding of SAP, the role involves the following general responsibilities:

• Managing a portfolio of clients and assignments, including resourcing and managing the effective delivery of assignments; performing quality review of assignment deliverables, adhering and driving through effective quality and risk management disciplines        
• Developing relationships with key internal and external channels in support of ongoing delivery or future business development

Person

You will have a history of success in leading teams and motivating others within the IT sector; you may be seen as a high achiever and been recognised for exceeding expectations, willing to take on a challenge, and be able to use their initiative with minimal support.

You will be flexible, with the ability to learn quickly and leverage skills in new situations with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

You will require strong team working skills, strong presentation and report writing skills, and have experience and passion for identifying sales opportunities and developing new business with clients.

You will have significant experience with SAP in financial services and IT, either in a consulting capacity or within an end-user environment.

You will have a strong understanding of the financial mechanics of an organisation, either through qualification and/or experience within a Finance function in Financial Services. 

Experience in the following:       

• Regulatory environment – the design and delivery of SAP solutions for regulatory compliance (GAAP, IFRS, Basel II etc)          
• Data Migration.  Large scale, complex, and high volume environments.         
• Infrastructure design and management.  Understanding of SAP infrastructure across the hardware, BASIS, and application layers.          
• Technical upgrades.  From business case development through to technical delivery 

Experience in the following – Preferred:

A functional and technical knowledge of the following SAP modules:-  

•  Business Intelligence (BW)
• Business Planning (BPS)
• Bank Analyzer (BA)    
• CRM
